Can I switch it on with sound?

A PCB with numbered parts marked on it

Part of the project we were looking at for Hackmanchester could possibly have been activated by a sound switch. With only a few days to go and on a major shopping trip at Maplin I couldn't find one, but I did find a couple of Velleman mini kits.

A plastic box of electronic components with a yellow insertPutting two of these together in one night was overly optimistic, but I managed to get a lot done and do a tidy job of it, even with a bit of disassembly and re-assembly when my sleep deprived self soldered a chip socket in place backwards.

Sadly in the wee small hours I found I was missing some parts. Either missing from the kits, which is unlikely, or lost somewhere in the plethora of other prep on my desk.

Without a concrete plan for these, I shelved it. I will come back and finish these soon though as they could be serious fun. Below you can see one board where I am only 4 components shy of a done job!
