Working around a few issues with my LED display board

In my previous post about the LED display almost works I mentioned an issue with the LEDs and using my multi-meter to trace the issue found that one of the connections was no good. After some de-soldering I found that the contact pad had actually come away form the PCB and broken. I am assuming that I have caused this by overheating.

As I can follow the PCB traces pretty clearly the best thing I could think of in terms of a workaround was to solder some spare wire across the the connection for the components. It is not ideal and certainly not the best solution, but it is simple managed to get the LEDs working, lighting at the right times and in sequence.

While not outstanding as my first larger soldering attempt I am please that I got everything working and that I have been able to solve the issues that I have come across. As a learning exercise it has been pretty valuable.
